To make a greater contribution to the fight against climate change, Kallista Energy has defined science-based targets to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions using the methodology of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Our short-term targets have now been validated by SBTi:
Frédéric Roche, Group CEO of Kallista Energy :
“Kallista Energy sets off on a new journey in the fight against climate change with the validation of its short-term science-based targets by @SBTi. Our company has already managed to reduce its GHG emissions by 40% between 2017 and 2022 on its scope 1 and 2 thanks to the daily actions of our team. With @SBTi, we are now tackling the emissions in our Scope 3, which is a real challenge for a company of our size. Nevertheless, we believe that all businesses, whatever their size, must take their part in the race against climate change. We are confident that by joining forces with our business partners, we can create a virtuous circle to reach Net Zero Emission by 2050”.
Science-based emissions reduction targets (SBT) are not a new technique for companies to appear more sustainable than they really are. On the contrary, this methodology enables companies to have a clearly defined greenhouse gas emissions reduction trajectory that has been scientifically verified as compatible with the shared ambition of the Paris Agreement.
