Kallista Energy renewed one of the very first wind farms in France in 2018. Several other wind farms have since been renewed with the same high standards of quality. These projects confirm that a wind farm is a totally reversible infrastructure, with no unpleasant surprises for the local authorities, farmers or the general public.
Wind energy: an obvious choice for the Kallista Energy Group
Wind power generation is the Group’s historical business. We continue to strengthen our portfolio with the development of new projects and the repowering of our ageing wind farms.
Wind power is one of the most competitive renewable energies in France, alongside hydro and solar power. The development potential of this energy is considerable, as France has the second largest wind resource in Europe.
The environmental impact of a wind turbine is low
wind is free;
the energy required to build a wind turbine is “offset” after six months to one year;
no CO 2 is directly emitted during operation of the wind park;
little land is required, so wind farms can co-exist with agriculture or forests;
no water consumption;
100% of a wind turbine can be recycled or valorised.
